Beech Bend Race Report:
Back
from a fun weekend in Bowling Green. The event is the NHRA Hot Rod
Reunion. If you have never been to this event, you must go! You
will see every kind of old race 
car
possible. Also, the event is huge and completely fills the Beech Bend
Raceway property. Because of the large crowds, I took Joe's and my
Cars down to Bowling Green Wednesday evening. Early Thursday, I got
the car teched and went back to the Dealership to work Thursday and Friday.
Saturday morning, Joe & I headed back down to Bowling Green. When we
got there, we had 38 N/SS Cars in our Class! We got 2 time runs
Saturday. The Drag'n Wag'n went 9.89 & 9.94 in muggy air. After
our runs, 8 of us went to Toot's to eat dinner. This place has Great
Catfish! We went back to the track and watched the Cacklefest;
40 Dragsters idling at the same time at night, lots of flames and noise.
Sunday eliminations, Joe got beat in the third round. I was lucky
enough to take it to the final round. I ran Bob Mosher in his Ford.
Bob got me on the tree and took the win, Congrats to Bob! We had a
great time this weekend and look forward to this event next year. Time
to get ready for the Chrysler Classic Race in Pittsburgh!
